Special Short-Term Children’s Programs on Sundays
Who: Children ages 4 and 5
Study: Worship Readiness
Teacher: Reverend Becky Albright
When: During the month of October
Description: This class is designed to enable children to engage in worship as a learning experience, assisting them with familiarity in the sanctuary. Jesus Christ welcomed and fully accepted children and we also encourage children of all ages into congregational worship.
Who: Children 1st grade and up
Study: Sacraments in Worship
Teacher: Reverend Becky Albright
When: November 6 - December 4th
Description: We rely on theologically-informed parents to decide when a child is ready to receive communion. This is not a certain age, but rather a time when a child experiences spiritual and social readiness. A five-week class will be held for children in the first grade and older whose parents feel instruction will be helpful for their children before they receive communion. The class will be guided through various aspects of worship including the sacraments, prayer, and the creeds. On Sunday, December 4th , parents are asked to participate in the class with the children prior to Worship Service when the children will be invited to participate in the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.
