To all who are weary and need rest, to all who mourn and need
comfort, to all who are lonely and need friendship,
to all who are glad and would serve their neighbors,
to all who are complacent and need disturbing,
to all who sin and need a Savior, this church opens wide
its doors in the name of Christ, and bids you welcome!
We are located in historic Beaufort, South Carolina at the corner
of North and Church Streets.
The Ascension of our Lord
Scripture: Ephesians 1:1-23
Sermon: “All Things Under His Feet”, Dr. Patrick Perryman
We believe that children can and should participate in worship services. To help them be more comfortable in worship, we have various activities for children to complete while worshipping at First Presbyterian Church.
Children who are not yet reading or are just beginning to read are invited to take a worship bag from the narthex. Each bag contains a couple of books, a coloring sheet, a children’s worship bulletin with puzzles and other activities, and a set of crayons as well as some drawing paper. All of these activities are carefully selected to complement the liturgy each Sunday.
Children who can read are invited to take one of the children’s bibles from the narthex. These bibles have a special bookmark marking the scripture we are reading that week. They also have a children’s bulletin with games and puzzles appropriate for older elementary children. All of these activities are carefully selected to complement the liturgy each Sunday.
All children are invited to come forward for the Children’s Sermon.
Children are 3 – Kindergarten are invited to leave the sanctuary after the Children’s Sermon to attend the SonShine Club. This class will focus on a different Bible story each week and children will hear stories, sing sings, play games and make crafts. Children in SonShine Club will be given a small snack as well. At the conclusion of worship children may be picked up from Room 102 in the Education Building.
Children 1st grade and older are asked to remain in worship and make use of the materials provided for them in the narthex.
